Attention between eyebrows, let mind be before thought. Let form fill with breath essence to the top of the head and there shower as light.
- Close the eyes and focus both eyes on the midpoint between the eyebrows (the pineal gland; tantra calls it the third eye / Shivanetra — present but non-functioning, closed not blind). The gland is MAGNETIC for attention and has been starved of it for lifetimes — attention is its food; it actively pulls the eyes inward. Marker that you have the exact point: the eyes become fixed and cannot move.
- First result — you become the WITNESS of thought. Where before you became the anger, now anger is a cloud around you that you watch and that cannot touch you. Two-way gate: centering at the third eye produces witnessing, and practicing witnessing centers you at the third eye.
- Second part, ‘let form fill with breath essence’ — feel PRANA, the invisible, immaterial content riding inside the breath; air is only the vehicle/container, prana is the content. Being centered at the third eye is what first makes prana perceptible.
- Completion — once prana is felt, imagine it filling the head up to the crown (sahasrar) and showering down as light. No effort is needed: at the third eye imagination and actualization are ONE, there is no gap between dream and reality — imagine and it is so. The shower actually happens; it recreates and rebirths you.
- This is the mechanism of all hypnotism: fixing the eyes on any external point draws inner attention to the third eye within about three minutes; the face loses its luster/vitality; from that moment any suggestion held in imagination is instantly actualized (a cold stone ‘becomes fire’ and the skin actually burns; ‘you are dead’ can stop the heart).
- Because imagination instantly actualizes here, PURITY is the prerequisite — an impure thought (to harm another, to kill oneself) held in this state actualizes at once, dangerous to self and others. This is why Pythagoras was required to complete a forty-day fast plus this exact breathing before being given the technique: purification first.
