Waking, sleeping, dreaming, know you as light.
- Waking, dreaming, and deep sleep are three clouds; consciousness (turiya, the fourth) is the sky behind them. This technique makes you the sky by threading one constant recognition — you are a flame — through all three states.
- Step 1 — Waking (months before moving on): Feel a flame burning in your heart; the physical body is only its luminous aura. Carry this not as a concept but as a somatic feeling all day — walking, eating, working.
- Success test before Step 2: After roughly 3 months, others begin to notice without being told — warmth when you approach, a fiery quality of touch, a subtle visible luminosity. Do NOT enter Step 2 until this happens. Their unsolicited awareness is the only reliable confirmation the imagination has uncovered a real fact.
- Scientific underpinning: every particle of matter is light (electrons). You are condensed light. Imagination here strips away a layer of ignorance rather than constructing a fantasy.
- Step 2 — Dreaming: Fall asleep while holding the flame-feeling; the remembrance continues below the threshold. First, dreams appear in which you carry a flame. Then dreams thin and finally disappear entirely, replaced by deeper, quieter sleep.
- Step 3 — Sleep: Only after dreams have gone can the flame-feeling be carried into sleep itself. Now the body sleeps but you remain aware — this is what Krishna means in the Gita: ‘yogis never sleep.’ Bodies need rest; consciousness, being pure energy, does not.
- Result: You become the traveller moving through three stations, not the station. That traveller is turiya — what is called soul, atma, the immortal element.
